Hi-Force ... eyeing growth oriented oil and gas industry

HI-FORCE, the UK’s leading manufacturer of hydraulic tools, is all set to promote its recently launched range of hydraulic torque wrench pumps at Adipec this year.

The TPA and TPE range of air and electric driven pumps compliment Hi-Force’s existing range of bolting products which provide effective and safe bolting solutions to a wide variety of industries including power generation, mining, ship building, construction and oil and gas.

The company is exhibiting at Stand 240 in Hall 2.

According to Hi-Force, participating in this year’s event is important as the Company strives to be at the forefront of all activities within the oil and gas industry, which has been its largest industry since it established operations in the region way back in 1992.

“With increased activity from the oil and gas industry, particularly with Abu Dhabi’s natural oil and gas reserves, the Hi-Force Abu Dhabi branch has experienced a significant increase in performance over the last 12 to 18 months. In future, the oil and gas industry will be at the forefront of Hi-Forces’ strategy and will remain a key market for the company for many years to come,” says S Vaideeaswaran (Ganesh), general manager, Hi-Force Limited, Abu Dhabi.

Hi-Force also supplies a wide range of products including torque tools, bolt tensioners, hydraulic cylinders, manual and powered pumps, puller kits, crimpers and cutters, Tough lift jacking systems and various other hydraulic tools.

Hi-Force’s extensive product range of over 2,000 items caters to a wide variety of industries including oil and gas, petrochemical and refining, power generation, steel and aluminum plants, mining, construction, ship building and repair, heavy engineering and the many thousands of industrial service companies supporting these markets.

In addition to the extensive range of products, Hi-Force also offers on-site services including bolting services from a simple bolt up of a single flange joint to a major construction, maintenance and shut down projects. On-site lifting and jacking services are also provided, usually related to heavy lift applications involving multiple numbers of Hi-Force high tonnage cylinders, pumps, hoses and accessories. “Through training, years of experience and a motivated workforce, Hi-Force is able to offer an on-site service that is second to none,” quips Ganesh.

The Hi-Force philosophy of offering a complete service package to support its customers’ needs and requirements also extends to its tool rental services. “With such an extensive array of products within the Hi-Force range, it is sometimes difficult for our customers to decide on the most suitable tool in which to invest their money. Additionally, with all our higher value products like high tonnage cylinders, powered pumps, hydraulic wrenches, stud bolt tensioners and hydrotest pumps many clients simply cannot justify the high capital outlay to purchase, especially in cases where their needs for the product are relatively short term or even simply for a one off job,” explains Ganesh.

Over the last few years, Hi-Force has been on concerted growth, internationally with plans to open further operations around the world. To meet the demands of this expansion, the UK head office recently took delivery of a new multi-million pound purpose built facility, at the rear of the existing UK manufacturing plant to cope with the increased demand for products worldwide. The facility comprises of almost 20,000 sq ft of built-up area, plus an additional 15,000 sq ft of secure yard area and houses the complete UK logistical operation from raw materials through to finished products, plus a 1,500 sq ft ECITB approved Training School.

Earlier this year, Hi-Force welcomed its latest computer numerical control (CNC) machine, the SL603 Lathe to its manufacturing facility in the UK. This latest addition is designed to machine high tonnage and special design cylinders and has significantly reduced the delivery time of these items due to its impressive spindle power and specialised tooling, allowing up to 10 mm of material to be removed from each side, on both the OD and the bores. The machine’s work holding diameter of 600 mm equates to cylinder capacities of up to 1,000 tonnes, with strokes up to 1,500 mm.
