The new facility will further strengthen long-term strategic partnerships in the region. It will be a one-stop shop that provides services for Voith and non-Voith equipment

Global technology group Voith will open its new facility in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia this year. The new workshop will provide technical services to the power, oil and gas, mining, as well as public transport sectors.

Services will include: maintenance, repair and overhaul, retrofit and modernisation, system updates; conducting technical trainings, supplying spare parts and service agreements with the customers in Saudi Arabia, says Reik Lichtenfeld, General Manager of the Voith Saudi Arabia Services.

Voith has been supplying technology and services to the region for almost 60 years. Some of the company´s variable speed drives have been in operation in Saudi Arabia since the 1960s.

"Our company is deeply rooted in the region, offering state-of-the-art range of services and products for power, oil and gas industries, automotive and public transport sector. Long-term strategic partnerships in the region and the growing demand for Voith technologies led to the opening of the first workshop and offices in Dubai, UAE in 2011," says Ward Loeffen, Vice President Service Sales - Middle East, Voith.

Voith´s success in the Middle East has led the company to establish a facility in another location in the region – its new 600 square metre service and sales facility in Dhahran (Dammam), which will be up and running this year.

Voith service technicians hold all the required qualifications (for example, regular technical training courses, occupational safety and SCC training). They also have many years of experience in the industry, which helps maintain the highest quality in all service work conducted.

Voith also trains customers’ technical personnel on how to handle Voith equipment (either on site or at a Voith facility).

Voith health checks show the current state of components and safeguard against unscheduled downtimes and expensive consequential damage. Based on the results of the health check, Voith will provide overhauls, upgrades or retrofits.

"Our facility will supply original Voith spare parts, as well as spare parts packages, tailored to our customer needs," says Loeffen.

With tailor-made service solutions from Voith, its customers can increase the efficiency, dependability and operational reliability of their systems and vehicles, over the entire product lifetime.

Voith supports its customers from planning and commissioning phases straight through to maintenance or during modernisation upgrades.

"We are planning to conduct technical training at our Dhahran facility to create more jobs for the youth in Saudi, which demonstrates our commitment and participation in the kingdom’s Saudi Vision 2030 programme and IKTVA – The In-Kingdom Total Value Add Programme, by promoting job creation, localisation and helping in national capacity building," adds Lichtenfeld.
