The second diesel cargo to load at Saudi Arabia's joint venture 400,000 barrel per day (bpd) Yasref refinery is en route to New York, traders said.

The 55,000-tonne cargo of 10 ppm diesel aboard the BW Kronborg is expected to go into the heating oil pool for the storm-battered Atlantic Coast.

Traders said the cargo did not meet the US specifications for road diesel, but would be welcomed for the heating oil pool. The Atlantic Coast is drawing in anywhere from 250,000 to 500,000 tonnes of diesel from Europe and the Baltic over the coming month due to plunging temperatures.

The refinery, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and China's Sinopec, loaded its first gasoline cargo earlier this month. - Reuters
