KGOC in deal with Technip

KHOBAR:
Kuwait Gulf Oil Co (KGOC) signed a contract with France’s Technip  to build gas facilities in Khafji, part of a plan to boost gas output for growing domestic needs, industry sources told Reuters. KGOC, a unit of Kuwait Petroleum operates in the Neutral Zone shared by Kuwait and Saudi Arabia through the Al Khafji Joint Operations with Aramco Gulf Operations, a subsidiary of Saudi Aramco .The signing took place, the sources said, after the contract was awarded to the French firm on January 17 to build gas and natural gas liquids (NGL) facilities in Khafji, which will carry 40 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas via pipeline to Kuwait.

Top oil exporter Saudi Arabia has nominated a candidate for the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries’ (Opec’s) next secretary general, a Gulf Opec delegate said, in a move that may reignite a quarrel over influence in Opec between Gulf Arab nations and Iran.

Saudi says can cover any oil shortages

LONDON:
Saudi Arabia can meet any future world oil shortages thanks to massive investment, and its rising gas output will mean crude exports will not be affected by booming domestic energy demand, Oil Minister Ali Al Naimi said.
