Total CEO killed in jet accident
MOSCOW: The chief executive of French oil major Total, Christophe de Margerie, was killed when a business jet collided with a snow plough during takeoff at Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport, the company said.

The collision occurred, just minutes before midnight Moscow time on October 20, the airport said in a statement.




RLTO marks 5,000th loading
DOHA: Qatargas has achieved yet another significant milestone with Ras Laffan Terminal Operations (RLTO) celebrating the loading of its 5,000th cargo, the equivalent of more than two billion barrels of product.

The 5,000th cargo also marks the first cargo of ultra-low sulphur diesel from the Ras Laffan Port, Qatar.






Shell unit IPO to be priced at $21
NEW YORK: Shell Midstream Partners, a master limited partnership formed by Royal Dutch Shell, said it expected its initial public offering (IPO) of common units to be priced at $19-$21 per unit, valuing it at up to $1.42 billion.

The Houston-based company’s offering of 37.5 million units will raise $787.5 million at the top end of the expected range. Shell Midstream owns stakes in four onshore and offshore pipelines in Texas and Louisiana.





Alfa seeks to raise $1bn for projects
MONTERREY: Mexican conglomerate Alfa said it wants to issue about $1 billion worth of shares so it can invest in Mexican energy projects in shale gas, conventional hydrocarbons and electricity. Alfa is looking to raise around $1 billion, a company spokesman said. Shareholders will vote on the proposal at a special meeting on November 4.





Zayed Future Energy winners
ABU DHABI: The Zayed Future Energy Prize jury has selected the winners of the 2015 awards in the final phase of the four-stage evaluation process and the names will be announced at a special awards ceremony on January 19, 2015. The awardees will be honoured at the event held as part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2015.
